• River Place Hotel

When interior designer Gino Castano needed a custom wallcovering crafted from scratch he knew he could turn to Astek to handle the job. We created this pattern of hand-drawn elements with color and texture added digitally. The finished repeat is a full 8 feet across and was printed on our textured Type II substrate Palisades. This was installed at the River Place Hotel in Portland Oregon.

  • Tenaya Lodge - Yosemite CA

Inspired by the local Sierra Nevada mountains, the Puccini Group looked to Astek for a custom wallcovering to bring their vision to life. We started with a hand sketched mountain range and had it printed on our Type II canvas substrate Bermuda. All of the suites for this property feature this original and illustrative wallcovering.

  • Dwell and Astek 1600 Vine Luxury Apartments

Dwell Labs/LA is centered on bringing modern design to life in luxury apartments, and to showcase modern city living in two buildings emblematic of the modern community. Astek’s wallcoverings are featured at 1600 Vine St. in Hollywood. This project included a digitally-printed mural in the dining room and wallcovering such as our award-winning grasscloth SN242 from Second Nature collection, a nominee for Interior Design magazine’s Best of the Year for 2013.

  • Hotel Zero Degrees

Studio East contracted our design studio to create numerous custom murals for the Hotel Zero Degrees in Norwalk Connecticut. All guest room murals were printed on our Type II substrate Spectre. An impressive geometric mural was created for their restaurant Mediterraneo that features larger-than-life bold geometric shapes layered with subtle textures.

  • Agile 360

The design firm Interior Architects wanted custom window graphics that could give the Agile 360 offices a dynamic and vibrant feel while providing privacy for offices and conference rooms. To fulfill this vision we designed and printed window film with a gradient of white from opaque to clear to allow natural light to fill the room and to create a background for the inspirational phrases layered on top. Printed window film like these are a simple and creative way for tenants to re-define a space at a low cost.

  • Gary Baseman x Astek

Gary Baseman teams up with Astek to create fun and freaky wallpapers for his retrospective, "The Door is Always Open" at the Skirball Cultural Center. Gary created an indoor house in the exhibition space complete with living room, bedroom, dining room, study, den and back yard. Astek designer Gabe Gonzales and Gary worked together to create themed patterns for each room of the "House".

The dining room wallpaper takes queues from a traditional wallcovering Gary's parents had when he was a boy, but on a second look you'll find "Toby" and "Dumb Luck" hiding in the swirls. The bedroom patterns depict two themes, dreams and nightmares. The room is bisected by these two patterns. The den features an endless chain of Wild Girls and ChouChous frolicking in a field of yellow.

"It is always exciting to see what happens when we collaborate with great artists. This project has been no exception" -Gabe Gonzales

If you missed the opening don't worry, the exhibit will at Skirball until August 18th and is definitely worth checking out. When your there don't forget to stop by Audry's gift shop where you can pick up self-adhesive wallpaper tiles of the patterns from the show and wall decals of Gary's spirited characters.

We are also licensing all of the patterns from the show so you can use them in your project. Contact sales for more information.
